Howdy yall

The more I make Hawaiian words as my subject the more exceptions to rules I see. Kristo (Christ) is the only word that has to consonants together and baptism is the only word that has a z that I've seen.

So funny story of the week before I get into baptism, the door at our apartment has been broken and it's been hard to open the door. So this week the door handle finally gave up the ghost. (See pictures at the bottom). So we've been having to do some park our and jump on the roof of the garages then on to our balcony in order to get in to our apartment. Good news is we don't have to lock the door cause no one can get in.

Alright now the more important story of the week. Isaac got baptized. He turned 9 and he's awesome. He loves reading in the Book of Mormon Stories book which is basically a picture Book of Mormon book and he found the animated cartoons of the Book of Mormon Stories. Safe to say he's a stud. He is awesome and a great example to me. What is amazing is every baptism has such a strong spirit there. When he was in the water the feelings of calm and peace were so strong.

It was also amazing that his mom and brother were able to be his witnesses. This church is truly about families. What's the purpose of baptism? Why is baptism so important? Baptism is washing us clean spiritually and making a promise with God we call these covenants. When we are baptized by water we are then clean and able to be purified by baptism by fire or receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost. This means we are able to have the Holy Ghost as our constant companion when we are worthy.

I like to think of it as a metal that is being made. The metal first is washed with water. We are first washed by water. Then the metal is purified by fire. All the blemishes and parts that are messed are gone in this process and that's like us, we are spiritually washed clean. But one without the other doesn't work. Isaac was baptized by fire on Sunday and now has the Holy Ghost as his constant companion. He was made clean.

At baptism we also make a promise with God that we will always remember him, keep his commandments, and take Jesus' name upon us. I ask y'all what taking Jesus name means to you? And in return Heavenly Father promises that when we do these 3 things we will always have the Holy Ghost with us. By doing these 3 things we can be worthy of that friend, comforter, and find truth with him.

So who wants to be clean? Who wants to be made whole? Jesus told many "Thy faith hath made thee whole." We are made whole through baptism and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. I know this to be true. I remember the peace and joy I felt when I was baptized and that's one of the only memories I have of my childhood before 10. Next week I'll have a super bowl message after I found out what happen.

Love y'all
