Elder Tyler Park's Mission Journey

Howdy Y'all  If y'all thought high school football is big in Texas you're right. But high school marching band is crazy in Texas as well. Some of the kids in our wards are in marching band and they have practices just as long as football everyday. I'm very impressed with the band kids going to practice in 100 degree weather to play an instrument. Speaking of 100 degrees it's been 100 at least one day 4 out of the 5 weeks I've been in Texas. All those days we've had to bike too. August is according to the members here the hottest month of the year. Anyway to the important things fantasy football. I want Sony Michell to be my first pick. I'm joking but I did meet a guy who's a patriot fan. That was cool.  Ok now the important parts of the week what I've learned. There is so much to learn on a mission. Howdy, well I'm not gonna lie Idk what week is it.  This week was an amazing week for a couple reasons both of which filled me with joy.  The first reason this week was great was we practiced teaching some lessons. Last week when I emailed y'all we had 2 lessons and it was great. We added 6 more lessons with members in the past week. The spirit was so strong and testified to me of the truthfulness of what we were teaching. We also taught our second lesson the Plan of Salvation and that one was a little rough. Someone asked about the 2nd coming and I had been reading some revelations before and I started talking about the millennium and that was not where it was supposed to go. It's good thing they were members.  The second awesome experience this week was when I was reading. Yes I actually read now it's weird. I was reading the "Saints" and that book is awesome. I started reading it and I couldn't put it down. The only time ...

Y'all is actually really fun to say.  Hope everything is going well with y'all. First thing I'd like to do is what I do a lot say sorry. My last email sounded like I was strongly discouraged about my area and it is tough some days but I love this area. The members are awesome, the food is great, and there is so much potential where I am. Everyone loves Jesus and hopefully they can see that this gospel is true.  This week went by really fast. It was filled with a lot of service. I love doing service. We went to the retirement home twice and they had a lot for us to do on Wednesday it was great. Then we went to a members home with some members to help put in some flooring and that was awesome. On Saturday we were out from 7 am -12 pm making bunks for kids who don't have beds to sleep on. Howdy, funny thing I've not said that yet which is probably good.  Well this has been another slow week for me it's great (not really). I've been here for 2 weeks and I haven't had a teaching appointment yet. In the 2 weeks the most work I've been doing is service for this old retirement home that's like a resort. It's super nice, the people are super kind, and it's really a good time to be there.  I was able to go on exchanges with the Zone Leaders and they were teaching people. That was a good experience and I want to do it some more.  Other than no teaching appointments this week hasn't been bad. Elder Pryde and I have been trying to find people but no one is ready to listen and that's ok. One day we will be able to get someone. For now we are going to get into the homes of the ward members and getting to know them better. Once we do that I know time will fly. Being in the members home yesterday on Sunday rejuvenate...
