Week 1 in San Antonio Texas

Image
So I finally made it to Texas. After 3 weeks in the MTC that felt like 3 months I'm in San Antonio Texas. The last couple days of the MTC were a little sad seeing my district go to different places. In 3 weeks we got really close. I know all of them are going to do great things.  Being in San Antonio I got assigned to the Indian Springs/Evans ranch area which is a little north of San Antonio. The people here are great their nice and like to hear about Jesus Christ but many of them have their own churches they go to. My first half week has been slow there were no scheduled teaching appointments and there aren't a lot of people on the sidewalks or parks to talk to. But this week were going to do a better job of finding people.  With this new area I have a new companion. His name is Elder Pryde and he's from Twin Falls Idaho. He's a super chill guy and he has a very strong knowledge of the gospel. He's also a quiet person so it's a little weird ...

Arrival at the Texas San Antonio Mission

July 24, 2019 Dear Brother and Sister Park, Elder Park has arrived safely at the Texas San Antonio Mission and has already been busy with many activities.  The afternoon began with a walk around the beautiful San Antonio Texas temple grounds followed by training from mission leaders.  Later the new elders and sisters enjoyed a delicious Texas barbecue dinner and famous Blue Bell ice cream. The evening was capped off by a visit to the Alamo where he "crossed the line” and gave away Book of Mormons.  The missionaries have received training to get them off to a good start in TSAM and mission life.  Tomorrow they will continue training, meet their new companions and travel to their first teaching area. Thank you so much for all your support and willingness to prepare Elder Park to serve Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I have attached a picture of Elder Park with President and Sister Tveten.

Week 2 MTC: What Do I Know

Buenos Dias mi Amigos, This week was pretty good. I'm getting use to and liking the MTC. The timing is perfect because I'm leaving for San Antonio in a week. On Wednesday I'm on a flight to San Antonio and then the real fun begins. But for this week a few highlights. 1. The gym is finally open so, I don't need to die in the heat playing kickball. Everyone in my district is surprised at how many high arcing floaters I shoot. 2. Devotionals here are amazing. The spirit is so strong and when you try to listen and try to get something the spirit will tell you something. 3. God knows us he loves us and he has put me in the best situation for me to succeed just like he will with everyone of you.  Since we've conversed last time I've met three new friends and continued talking to Olivia. Olivia is awesome she has a lot of questions which is good but she wants to follow Christ which is all we can ask someone to do is follow Christ. Every time we leave after ...
