Week 2 MTC: What Do I Know


Buenos Dias mi Amigos,

This week was pretty good. I'm getting use to and liking the MTC. The timing is perfect because I'm leaving for San Antonio in a week. On Wednesday I'm on a flight to San Antonio and then the real fun begins. But for this week a few highlights. 1. The gym is finally open so, I don't need to die in the heat playing kickball. Everyone in my district is surprised at how many high arcing floaters I shoot. 2. Devotionals here are amazing. The spirit is so strong and when you try to listen and try to get something the spirit will tell you something. 3. God knows us he loves us and he has put me in the best situation for me to succeed just like he will with everyone of you. 

Since we've conversed last time I've met three new friends and continued talking to Olivia. Olivia is awesome she has a lot of questions which is good but she wants to follow Christ which is all we can ask someone to do is follow Christ. Every time we leave after teaching her I am encouraged and want to talk to her again. Our first new friend was Nate. He's super chill guy and we had a deep discussion about the Fall of Adam and Eve yesterday. What's cool is that he said we helped him see the fall as more than just Adam and Eve partaking the fruit and being cursed but that the fall was good. 2nd we met Grant who we only talked to for 30 minutes and he was a super cool guy. We just read some scriptures but the spirit was there with him as we read. Last we meet Sister Garrett. She's a member and we were just talking to her to help us have lessons with members but her spirit and testimony were so strong. All I read was be ye therefore perfect even as I and I started to tear up because her spirit was so strong. She was awesome and I'm sad I won't get to see her again. I love each and everyone of them and the spirit they bring even if they may not know they have the spirit yet. 

This week when we were planning for our lessons with our friends it's the first time that I felt nervous Because Sunday I just felt all day that I wasn't ready for this and I didn't know the Scriptures enough and was struggling to listen and discern the spirit. It's true I don't know the Scriptures like I should but with Nate he asked a tough question and the spirit told me to go to the Scriptures and I did and that really helped Nate I think to bring those new ideas. Grant had a similar experience were I feel the Scriptures helped him. I dont know a lot and I have much to learn but I know enough. 

The spirit talks to each of us differently and in more ways than one. He will always be there to help us. The scriptures will always have answers to our questions if we study them diligently is when we will find them.

PS. Sorry if you weren't on the email last week I was salty that my draft got deleted. And also I will be in San Antonio next Thursday so I probably won't email until the Monday after. So if you don't here from me don't worry I haven't died yet.

Hola Mi Amigos  So apparently I'm instagram famous now so please I don't do autographs except for sizable donations to my missionary funds. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, last week I talked about meeting this guy named Elder Ulissses S. Soares. A Hui Hou Austin Ward

Good morning y'all  We got transfer news yesterday and I'm getting transferred up north more to Pflugerville. I'm still close to Austin just a little higher. I have mixed emotions about it, but I know it's where the Lord needs me and it's a good change. I will miss all the people and relationships that I've made here. It's sad to think about leaving so many people but I know it is not the end. I may never see any of these people again in this life but that's alright. (I'll probably be back at some point though).  Where am I going with this. To be honest I don't know I'm kind of just typing. But A hui hou means goodbye in Hawaii but hui means gather and hou means new. So, the literal meaning is until we meet again. And that is so true although we say goodbye to those we love, we will meet them again. There is a life after this. Jesus Christ is real. His atonement is real. Waihoʻi kūʻokoʻa

Good Morning Fam (or whatever time it is)  This was a week. As most of you know Corona virus sucks. And is growing everyday. Meaning new updates from the mission everyday. Wednesday night we were chilling trying social distancing. Thursday morning we are in Self-isolation. Fun stuff. So what does that mean? It means we are to do 95% of our missionary work online. The 5% we do not online is sacrament and baptisms but even those have guidelines. So what does that mean, time to get creative with online proselyting.  Then come to find out on Friday my comp has to go home because of corona virus. A lot has happened. But everything happens for a reason.  I think my message today is about being creative and finding success in the circumstances we are given. I was talking to a greenie (a new missionary) the other day and we discussed what success is. But this is a weird time many of us have to stay home meaning in work and school things are different.
