Just ONE

Howdy Y'all

If y'all thought high school football is big in Texas you're right. But high school marching band is crazy in Texas as well. Some of the kids in our wards are in marching band and they have practices just as long as football everyday. I'm very impressed with the band kids going to practice in 100 degree weather to play an instrument. Speaking of 100 degrees it's been 100 at least one day 4 out of the 5 weeks I've been in Texas. All those days we've had to bike too. August is according to the members here the hottest month of the year.

Anyway to the important things fantasy football. I want Sony Michell to be my first pick. I'm joking but I did meet a guy who's a patriot fan. That was cool.

Ok now the important parts of the week what I've learned. There is so much to learn on a mission. The first thing I want to talk about is blossoming where you are. Someone in church said that and then my mom emailed me a little of the same thing but all of life is what we choose to make it. We will find what we look for. If we look for what's bad we'll find the bad. We we look for what's good we'll find the good. I've said before where I am has been hard but that was because I made it hard. I made excuses and I struggled. Through the past couple weeks I've been changing how I look at the area. It's not bad it's a great area. Like plants it takes a little time for it to grow. There is so much good in the world we just have to want to see it.

And kind of along those same lines we control our own success and failures. When we work hard we are successful even when we don't get the results we want. It's learning to first work hard and second learning from what has happened that makes something successful or not. Hard work is success. Failure is when we fail to work hard.

Another thing is how important it is to bear testimony. For y'all who don't know what testimony is it's basically saying that I know something is true. In the lessons we have had this week with members I've been struggling a little bit to express the concepts simply. I'm a really bad teacher. But the feeling changes when I bear my testimony that what I'm teaching is true. It doesn't matter what I'm talking about. That just shows me once we find truth, we must hold strong to those truths and tell the world.

Lastly one person can make a big impact on someone. On Thursday we were out knocking on doors and talking to people. We only talked to one person about the gospel and sharing with him filled my heart and soul with joy. All it takes is one person, one compliment, one smile, to make a person's day 100 times better. Let's do that lets make the world a happier place one person at a time.

I love y'all hope you're doing great. Also Patriots are still the best NFL team and BYU is ending the losing streak to Utah on thursday.

Love y'all
