A Hui Hou Austin Ward

Good morning y'all

We got transfer news yesterday and I'm getting transferred up north more to Pflugerville. I'm still close to Austin just a little higher. I have mixed emotions about it, but I know it's where the Lord needs me and it's a good change. I will miss all the people and relationships that I've made here. It's sad to think about leaving so many people but I know it is not the end. I may never see any of these people again in this life but that's alright. (I'll probably be back at some point though).

Where am I going with this. To be honest I don't know I'm kind of just typing. But A hui hou means goodbye in Hawaii but hui means gather and hou means new. So, the literal meaning is until we meet again. And that is so true although we say goodbye to those we love, we will meet them again. There is a life after this. Jesus Christ is real. His atonement is real. And it was for us that we can say until we meet again.

It's a tradition in Hawaii for the people who move or leave the ward for the ward to sing a song called Aloha 'Oe literal meaning Love you. But the words are amazing and ring true. Give it a look up if you can or if you know it your chilling.

To bring the Book of Mormon in to this one of my favorite verses is
Alma 17:2 Now these sons of Mosiah were with Alma at the time the angel first appeared unto him; therefore Alma did rejoice exceedingly to see his brethren; and what added more to his joy, they were still his brethren in the Lord; yea, and they had waxed strong in the knowledge of the truth; for they were men of a sound understanding and they had searched the scriptures diligently, that they might know the word of God.”

I will be joyous to see everyone again. What will add to my joy is when we are brothers and sisters in Christ!

Love y'all
