Howdy fam

This week was a very nice week. It was Christmas and a lot of things are starting to happen. Members got us a Bolo Tie and I am beyond stoked for it. People are truly being prepared in South Austin and it is incredible to see. There were at least 7 potential members at church last week and this week there were 4 and many of whom could get baptized very soon. There are also a lot of new people Elder Pollock and I found this week and it is nice to see that. Big stuff is happening in the Austin area.

Well the New Year starts on Wednesday and that means everyone is talking about goals for the year. And let me tell you I used to hate goals and I a lot of the times don't see the point in goals because for me, I've never been good at achieving my goals so they haven't been good motivators. But since being on my mission I've seen goals that our important. I still strongly despise goals but goals do help a lot of people. The important thing about goals is making them hard enough to stretch you but still achievable. Now I'm not a fan of daily goals but long term goals I am a fan off. It's something to shoot for. My goal is to be worthy to marry my future wife in the temple for time and all eternity.

The second and probably biggest part of a goal is making a plan to achieve that goal. A lot of New Year's Resolutions don't work out in the long run becuase there is no plan to achieve that goal. If you have a goal to workout more in the New Year you need to plan a time to work out. Well what's my plan, to have regular temple attendance (When I go home of course), to either always have a temple recommend or be working to have one, to study out of the best books. And to keep my brother Jesus Christ in mind.

The third part is by far the hardest part of a goal and it is the action phase. I'm going to be completely honest with y'all there may be times that I won't be able to attend the temple. But that's alright that is what the atonement of Jesus Christ is for. We arenʻt perfect and we will fall of the path at some point but we have the greatest shepherd or line leader (if that works better) to come back to that path. If you make a goal and fall away from it don't give up remember it and work towards fulfilling that goal again.

I hope that made sense. Hau'oli Makahiki Hou and I love and miss y'all. Hope you have an awesome New Years.
