Week 13: Shredding Tires

Howdy!

Someone finally said that to me in Texas so I can say it now. That's how it works right. Anyway this week was pretty eventful which is always great. I've learned many things this week, one is that I apparently don't know how to ride a bike but I'm getting good at changing tires. I've had to change 3 tires and I've been in San Antonio a little less then two months. Funny thing is I've somehow put a hole through all 3 tires. Good thing it's only been the tires and not the frame, that would be very expensive to fix.

Other than somehow destroying my bike tire it's been a pretty good week. We are working with a lot less active families. Sadly we don't have very many new friends but we're working on it. Slowly but surely it will get better just gotta keep working. I had an exchange with one of our Zone Leaders Elder Brady and that guy is incredible. He taught me so much just in the short time we were on exchange and I don't think he even knows how much he's taught me.

Now for more fun talking about popping a tire. That was Saturday and we were on our way to an appointment. We were biking pretty hard and apparently there's nails on the side of the road and nails go right through rubber. Who would have thunk? So for the rest of Saturday Elder Pryde and I walked. Luckily (or unluckily) we only had one confirmed appointment no one else responded to us. The good news is that it drizzled a little bit so it wasn't insanely hot the better news is as we were walking a lady was driving down the road stopped and called us over. She was super nice and said she was thinking about joining the Church. Let me tell you that usually doesn't happen. There's two takeaways I get from this experience:

1. We could have called some people and had them drive us back to our apartment. But we didn't we sworked for a few hours. I think at around 4:30 is when someone put a nail in my way and we didn't see this lady till almost around 7. The Lord knew we were working and blessed us. The Lord sees us working. My grandpa sent me something this week that I really like. Desires dictate our priorities, Priorities shape our choices, Choices determines our actions (and I added) Actions deternines our Blessing.  Elder Dallin H. Oaks. Actions determine our blessings.

2. Takeaway is everything happens for a reason. Had that nail not been on the road we probably wouldn't have been anywhere near the area when the Lady was driving by. We would have never been walking on the road, she wouldn't have seen us. And who knows what would happen. The Lord put us in the place we needed to be.

I love y'all. Keep being you.
