Week 10 What is Pride? What is joy?

This week was an interesting one. It felt a little longer than others but we had a pretty busy week. And the temperature was cooler some days.

Best story of the week is I got into my first Bible Bash this week. Although it wasn't really a bash it was still a super cool conversation. It’s so interesting how similar our religions are, there's a couple things that were different and he had trouble understanding, but we had pretty much the same view on repentance and we talked about some parables in the New Testament, it was such a great conversation. Best part is at no point did my testimony feel like it was breaking apart. I know this Church is true and that this is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

So the subject of the email is something I've been studying a lot. What is pride? In the Book of Mormon it talks about pride and how pride brings down the people. I've come to the conclusion that pride is forgetting the Lord. We can be happy with what we have accomplished and what we have as long as we remember that it is the Lord who gave us all of it. The Nephites began to forget the Lord and began to boast in their own strength. Ammon remembered the Lord in both his trials and his triumphs. He boasted in the Lord. Remember the Lord in all you do.
Now what is joy? I leave that for you.

Here's a picture of a rainbow for my family we know the significance but for those of you who don't, the rainbow reminds me of my great grandma and how our ancestors are with us always. With the Plan of Salvation we can see and live with our family again. Oh what joy that brings me in knowing that no one is ever completely gone. We can feel them with us now and we will be with them again.
